Marine Sensors and in-situ Metrology Group
Group Profile

  Facing to the grand challenge of full-sea-depth exploration and the data accuracy during the long-term deep-sea observation, the Marine Sensors and in-situ Metrology Group is dedicated to the next generation of photonics-based sensors with high spatiotemporal resolution, long-term stability and in-situ metrologic calibration for ocean environment exploration..

Research Directions

1.Development of full-ocean-depth (0–11,000 meters) multi-physical-parameter (temperature, salinity, depth, current, density) optical sensors and nitrate sensors, and their applications in the Ocean Internet of Things;

2.Full-ocean-depth metrologic ocean environmental simulation chamber;

3.Study on the long-term stability and reliability evaluation technologies and standards for deep-sea sensors;

4.In-situ metrology technologies for deep-sea environments;

Development of marine ranching sensors and online calibration technology.
