Marine Environment Observation Research Team
Group Profile
Marine Environment Observation Research Team is established under the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou). The research team, led by Professor Yang Huayong, focuses on key scientific and technological challenges in the fields of marine acoustics, marine observation, and marine geo-acoustic and underwater acoustic cross-disciplinary areas. They conduct in-depth basic theoretical research, essential technology development, equipment development, and experimental applications.

2. Seabed Geoacoustic and Underwater Acoustic Cross-Disciplinary Research;
3. New Technologies in Marine Acoustics/Non-Acoustic Detection;

Yang Huayong is a Ph.D. and Professor, serving as a full-time Principal Investigator (PI) at the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) since 2020. He has been engaged in long-term basic research, technological breakthroughs, equipment development, and talent cultivation in the fields of marine observation and detection.
